Emerging Irish six-piece Child Of Prague have revealed their new single, ‘Basking Sharks’. The band are known for their fusion of chamber pop instrumentation and Irish music, with elements of jazz, classical and even math rock finding its way into their folky take on a Midwest emo sound. This track pulls the band members’ eclectic backgrounds into one ambitious, anthemic piece that takes the form of a message to a lover. The band elaborate: “Although bearing your heart to someone is often frightening and feels clumsily executed, this song is meant as a message to a lover or friend that—despite this condition—I am trying my best to make them happy and express how I feel; I don’t mean to cause them any harm.” The track is taken from the band’s debut EP, which is due for release on September 19th, 2025, via Faction Music. -Dan Peeke
